The biggest difference between the first 2 games is that in the first game it's more about being stealthy, working your buttocks off to finally do the objective and maybe get a tank and blast the ♥♥♥♥ out of everyone after the hard work, and the 2nd is better if you prefer having more choice in how to complete the mission.
